Wet sand and paint bottoms

A clean bottom helps with fuel efficiency and speed. Our technicians are experienced with many different bottom paints on the market for fiberglass, wood, steel, and aluminum vessels. Whether you are racing your sailing vessel or just cruising the islands, we have the right paint for you!

The bottom painting procedure is similar for fiberglass, aluminum, and steel-hulled boats. The bottom is scrapped, sanded and profile work is done, and then the ablative paint is applied.

 

Thru-hull inspection and lubrication

Have peace of mind knowing all of your thru-hulls have been inspected, lubricated, and operating as they should. You don’t want to wait until it is too late…

The service team will inspect the through-hulls and seacocks, remove marine growth and inspect for corrosion and degradation. Prevention is key to ensuring seacocks work properly.

Hull waxing and polishing

Our experienced technicians can revitalize that dull hull and make it shine again.  From a simple maintenance wax for protection to a full cut polish and resurfacing, we can do it all.

Cleaning includes getting rid of salt, dirt, grease, mold, stains. You could break this down into various stages, depending on the condition of the hull, general cleaning, and stain removal. Polishing creates a smooth glossy surface to be protected. If you have an old hull, there could be several stages to this process. Waxing is the application of a thin polymer or natural wax coating to seal and protect your polished gel coat.

 

Running gear service

Has your running gear inspected before you RUN into problems?  Running gear inspections include cutlass bearing, shaft seals, alignment checks, prop lubrication and inspection, prop and shaft coatings and sail drive services.

  Running gear and outdrives should be cleaned of fouling, and painted with special a paint.

Anode replacement

Anodes should be replaced annually to help protect your vessel.  If anode replacement is left too long, this could be damaging to your underwater metals and costs can add up.  Ensure all anodes have been checked/replaced on your next haul out.

Zinc anodes are usually replaced even though some of the old anode is still there.
